Accessibility.
We want this site to work for everyone. Here is what it does, where it still falls short, and how to tell us if something gets in your way.

What we aim for
We want this site to be usable by everyone, whatever they are browsing with. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and we treat anything that falls short of it as a fault to fix rather than a limitation to explain.
What the site does
- Every part of the site can be reached with a keyboard, and whatever you are on is clearly marked.
- Headings are real headings, so a screen reader can move through the page by structure.
- Photographs carry descriptions, and the ones that are purely decorative are hidden from screen readers rather than read out as noise.
- If you have asked your device to reduce motion, the site respects it: the opening animation is skipped, and nothing slides, drifts or types itself out.
- Text can be enlarged in your browser without the layout breaking, and the site works down to a small phone screen.
- Videos in the background play muted and carry no information that is not also written on the page.
Where it falls short
We would rather name these than let you find them:
- The Instagram reels and the YouTube players are built by those companies, not by us. We cannot change how they behave with a keyboard or a screen reader, and their captions are whatever the original post carried.
- The rotating gallery on the MADgicians page is a visual flourish. It can be driven from the keyboard and it holds still if you have reduced motion turned on, but the photographs in it are decorative and are not described one by one.
- Some photographs of posters and press pages contain text inside the image. Where that text matters, it is repeated in the page around it.
